If you are looking at Flussonic for an SRT-to-UDP gateway, you are buying a whole platform to do one thing. Stream Gateway by CEF receives SRT and HLS and delivers UDP unicast, UDP multicast and HLS per program, on a Raspberry Pi or a Linux server, from $750 once per device.
Flussonic Media Server is a serious product with a much wider scope than ours, and the rest of this page says where that scope is exactly what you need. Everything below about them comes from their public website.

When Flussonic is the better choice
There are cases where we are not what you need, and you deserve to know before you spend a month testing.
You need a full streaming platform
Flussonic Media Server takes DVB-S, SDI, IP cameras, RTMP and VOD, and delivers HLS, DASH, WebRTC and MPEG-TS, with transcoding and clustering. That is a much wider job than ours, and they do it.
You need transcoding or an ABR ladder
They publish CBR and ABR output. We do not transcode at all: we demux and remux what arrives. If your workflow has to change resolution or bitrate, that is them, not us.
You run a data centre, not sites
Their deployment story is Ubuntu, Docker, Kubernetes and the public clouds, with cluster delivery. If your video lives in one central platform and scales there, that architecture is built for it.

Cable operators, hotels, IPTV and OTT platforms, telcos, WISPs and integrators, where the job is delivery and not production.

It runs at the site, on a Raspberry Pi
Their published deployment options are Ubuntu, Docker, Kubernetes and the clouds; ARM and Raspberry Pi are not mentioned on their site. Ours is the same software on a Pi 4 or 5 for up to 20 streams, or on Ubuntu / Linux x86 for up to 250 — so a hotel or a small headend gets a box that fits the rack it actually has.
Many sites, one screen
A local panel on each device plus a cloud panel that shows every gateway you run: online/offline, version, licence, and remote actions — start and stop streams, restart, update, reboot. It is included, not a separate product.
Built for one job, done continuously
Primary and backup source per program, with automatic switchover and reconnection. SRT input is caller by design: the gateway dials out to the source or the CDN, where the redundancy already lives, instead of publishing an address and waiting on it.
Every incoming signal, on the record
Live RTT, jitter and bandwidth in and out, plus a full report of everything that happens on each incoming signal. Alerts for signal loss, black screen and pixelation arrive by email, per program.

No surprises
What Stream Gateway by CEF does not do
If any of these is a requirement for you, we are not your tool, and it saves us both time that you find out on this page.
- We do not transcode. No ABR ladder, no resolution or bitrate changes — we demux and remux what arrives. If you need transcoding, this is the wrong tool.
- We take SRT and HLS in, nothing else: no DVB-S, no SDI, no IP cameras, no RTMP.
- SRT input is caller only, and that is deliberate: a receiver in listener mode has to publish an IP and wait on it, which is the single point you cannot fail away from.
- There is no recording and no DVR. It passes signal through; it does not store it.
- Alerts are sent by email only — signal loss, black screen and pixelation, per program.
- The lifetime licence does not include later updates or technical support. The subscription does include updates while it is active.

Is Stream Gateway by CEF a replacement for Flussonic Media Server?
No, and it would be dishonest to say so. Flussonic Media Server is a full streaming platform — DVB-S, SDI, cameras, transcoding, ABR, DASH, WebRTC, clustering. Ours does one job: it receives SRT and HLS and delivers UDP unicast, UDP multicast and HLS per program, 24/7. If that one job is what you are buying a licence for, compare them. If you need the platform, you need the platform.
