Licensing FAQ

Questions about pricing & licensing

How is Stream Gateway licensed?

Per device. Each Prime Box, Raspberry Pi or Linux server installation is licensed individually and bound to its hardware, with periodic license verification.

What does the free demo include?

A free 30-day trial with every feature unlocked, for evaluation only (not commercial use). No payment details required to start.

What is the difference between Prime and Enterprise?

Prime is the service for the Prime Box, at $10 per license per month. It has the same features as the Enterprise subscription, on the Prime Box: up to 4 streams, with IP output plus HDMI and composite video. Enterprise is the service for Raspberry Pi and Linux servers. As a subscription, billed monthly or yearly, it always includes the latest updates and technical support, and you can cancel anytime. It is also available as a perpetual license: a one-time payment that runs the version available on the day you activate it, without further updates or technical support. Activate any license within 30 days of purchase.

Do I need a separate license for each device?

Yes. Pricing is per license, so a fleet of gateways needs one license per unit. Contact us for volume pricing on larger deployments.

Where do I buy the hardware, and how does this compare with a hardware gateway?

You buy it yourself, from a local distributor or any retailer: a Prime Box, a Raspberry Pi, or an x86 machine for the Linux option. We do not ship hardware, but we help you buy it in your country: ask our team before you buy and we will help you pick the one that fits what you need to deliver. That is the difference: a hardware SRT-to-UDP gateway is usually sold by quote, while ours runs on standard hardware you already know how to buy and replace, with the licence price on this page, plus fleet management across sites, automatic failover when a source drops, full monitoring and reporting on every incoming signal, and email alerts.

Sales policies

Buying, licensing and your data

Who am I buying from, and under which terms?

You buy from CEF Technology, a company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States. Purchases are in US dollars, licensed per device, and governed by the laws of Wyoming. The software runs on hardware you provide and operate. What it does is described on this site and in the documentation, and we do not promise features that are not described there.

Do I own the software, or am I licensing it?

You buy a licence, not the software itself. It is non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable, and it covers one installation on one device, bound to that device’s MAC address. Commercial broadcasting and distribution are allowed. CEF Technology keeps ownership of the software. Moving a licence to different hardware is handled by support.

Can I get a refund, and how do I cancel?

A first purchase can be refunded within 14 days if it does not work for you: write to [email protected] from the address on your account and we refund to the original payment method, after which the licence is revoked. Renewals are not refundable, so cancel before the renewal date instead. You can cancel any time, and the service keeps running until the end of the period you already paid for. The demo is free, so there is nothing to refund.

When and how do I receive my licence key?

Electronically, right after your payment is confirmed. The key arrives by email to the address on your account and is also shown in your account on the panel, so a lost or filtered email never leaves you without it. You need one key per device. No hardware is shipped: Stream Gateway runs on your own Prime Box, Raspberry Pi or Linux server.

What am I not allowed to do with it?

You are responsible for what you transmit and for holding the rights to transmit it. You may not use the software for content you have no rights to, or that is unlawful. You may not tamper with licence verification, share a key beyond its device, run more devices than you hold licences for, or resell the software as a service without a written agreement. Multicast deserves particular care: only send it into networks you control or have permission to use.

What data do you collect when I buy?

Billing name and address, country, and tax identifiers where required. We never receive or store your full card number: payment is handled by PayPal and card details go from your browser straight to PayPal, which returns only a reference, the last four digits, the card brand and the result. From the devices themselves we see the MAC address that licensing is based on, status, software version and operational metrics. We do not sell personal data. Privacy questions go to [email protected].

Does the site use cookies?

This site sets no cookies of its own. It is static, with no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, which is why there is no cookie banner. The panel uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in. PayPal may set its own cookies on its payment page to keep the payment secure, and Cloudflare may set a security cookie to tell real visitors from automated attacks.

These answers summarise our sales policies. Questions about any of them: [email protected].
